I then closed my eyes
Whilst opening my mind
So no one could decipher
My thoughts
Yet it fascinated me
How gullible I was in
Your presence
For beauty is the beast
You were always in sight
But always out of my grasp
Until one day, it disappears
Like the fall of the watcher Argus
I tried to let go and attempted to let
My thoughts carry me downstream
But I did not let go, I grabbed on
Tighter, ever so tighter
To the hand of your phantom,
Haunting me, puzzling me
As to what could have been
