Are you listening?
I saw her mouth moving
The vibrations of the words
I could feel
I saw the anguish spreading across
Her face
I noticed
Gentle raindrops flowing from
Her eyes creating a stream
On her cheeks
With her hands clasped together
& her ears waiting for reaction
She’s wondering why I’m not reacting
Says the expression on her face
I have no words
My mouth Won’t MOVE
My mind has fogged up
My mouth tries to form the English
She wants me to speak
Finally it all comes to me
I regain myself
I cup her face In my hands
And I tell her
Yes dear
I have been listening
