Stand By Me

With this world fading,
with reality slipping away before our eyes,
will you stand by me?
When my struggles become overpowering,
The pain paralysis all the way to my soul,
with the cold words making me freeze;
would you stand by me?
When my life's spinning out of control,
and I can't find a way out;
can you stand by me?
When my stories come to an end,
my words a mere echo,
would I say,
"Why didn't you stand by me?"
If I told you,
this was the end of me;
would you have taken my words,
and stood by me?
