I believe in getting into hot water; it keeps you clean.

The valley of the shadow of death holds no darkness for the child of God. There must be light, else there could be no shadow. Jesus is the light. He has overcome death.

Dwight L Moody

The silence isn't so bad, till I look at my hands and feel sad

A soft caress, a contented
Sigh. Quiet, slow
Exhale of breath. A girl;
Happy as she had ever been.

Strong, gentle, long arms came
Around her, pulling close.
Pushing away the world.
The violence; the cruel
Betrayal of friends.

Inviting comfort, safety,
Security. In his arms she felt
More alive than she had
Ever felt before.

Content in his arms,
She sighed. Happy because
Want pulled her in
And love made her stay.

"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind." -Dr. Seuss

I like that you're setting up a definite contrast between desire and love. "Want pulled her in, and love made her stay." Love is so much more than physical attraction or superficial emotions. And it seems like the girl is trying to get away from just that:  superficiality. She pushes away the world and the "betrayal of friends," because they are nothing in comparison to what's real. Her love is real.

I honestly just love this. The line "love made her stay" is what drew me to this poem and the use of it at the end of the poem is beautiful.
