I must lie down where all the ladders start
In the foul rag and bone shop of the heart.
~William Butler Yeats

In storm cloud skies
Fraught with lightning
There was no instance for goodbye.

Lightning struck
And I spiraled into the palm of
The invisible hand
That snatched my soul from the black abyss.

And I can't let go
Of memories, like fleeting dreams.
I want to escape,
But I can't escape what I have locked away.

And now,
Now I've been lowered
Back down onto earth.
But part of my mind is still caught
In turbulent black clouds.
