Autumn
As I lay on the soft earth
leaves fall around me
landing lightly
whispering as they scuttled on the ground
I look up and my the air is aflame
with the vision of a blazing, winding staircase
of crimson yellow leaves falling
leading up to the top
where I could look down upon all the earth
blazing in its autumn glory
The leaves fall quickly, though
Something too beautiful to last
and soon my tower that looks over all the earth will fall
It will fall into the chill of winter and I will wait for the blessed green spring to come again
