Architectural Businessman
Stone, brick, concrete.
Geometric patterns on a geometric shape
Straight lines, juxtaposed by a doughy face,
That masculine paunch hardly contained by an Oxford shirt,
Suit pants showing socks and ankles
Squeaky leather shoes
Never were there the soft, downy edges,
The soft curl of a flower, touched gently
Sharp corners
Office buildings
Cubicles
Round pencil cup out of place on a rectangular desk
Black and white, pastel and black,
Precise haircut, high and tight.
The feathers of the pigeons swooping by
Soft purring coos
Iridescent plumage among a coat of gray.
Do your work with nagging telephones and disgruntled printers
The softness means nothing.
You’re so architectural.
