he's gone for now
but he'll be back
he promised
she kissed him goodbye
but she would wait
she promised
seconds to minutes
hours to days
weeks to months
she waited
every day
the same routine:
in the morning
rinse and repeat
yesterday
at night
she breaks down
crying and sobbing
wishing and longing
feeling lonely
in such a big bed
and the only comfort
he can give
is ghost arms
encircling her
