As I sit here in this southern heat
I must admit I love you
I'm more than certain you don't know this
And I'm probably wrong for asking
but is it possible for you to love me back
I know there are no promises and definitely no guarantees
because as I sit in this southern heat
I just can't lie to myself any longer
