Plain Jane
Soft faces, long hair, red lips and crisp wine,
Your memory composed of these beauties that shine,
They sparkle so brightly in pictures you hold,
And eyes almost speak with their outlines so bold.
But shadows hold places of where I have been,
I'm almost the girl that has never been seen:
My hair doesn't glow like these glamourous girls,
Who dress themselves up in rich curls and pearls,
My green eyes so dull, they are pale and sick,
Eye lashes so short and I wish they were thick,
Sunkissed, I am not, I just burn to a crisp,
My teeth are so crooked- have you noticed my lisp?
But it's so nice to meet you:
Hello, I am Jane,
I know you'll forget me
'Cause I am so plain.
