The Lovely Bones

soft white
stained by the earth
hidden under
rustling leaves
a story to be told
but still...
silence
a tale screams out
into the falling woods
no one there to listen
to the story of a girl
ripped from life
torn from her body
her shattered soul
pulled to heaven
to look down upon the Earth
to watch her body
decay
and see the last part
of her being
sit there with no one
to see, to hear, to understand
the story behind
her lovely bones
