I never deemed it possible.
I mean, me?
Little, insecure me?
The one girl with her feet actually on the ground with no insight into cloud 9 whatsoever.
But it happened.
I remember searching.
Years of searching
Until I just gave up
and stopped.
Then it found me
in the last place I would have looked
He found me.
And even then I didn’t expect it.
I was clueless.
Finally floating up to those clouds
and seeing my own reflection
the very one I had lost
so many years before.
And now I’m here.
On my same old rooftop
Staring into the eyes of my own ghost
as it grasps my hand, flooding into me
I’m drowning
drowning
suffocating in my past
Yet it can not kill me.
For as I have one hand on that fading girl
I have another on him
Which brings even the slightest smile to my lips.
