Hidden In Glass
Porcelain Dolls
that’s all we are
with delicate
painted faces
Through eyes of stone
we block out light
perspective hindered
to match our creators.
And through this agony
we continue to smile
as lies of bliss
bleed through our lips
poison in one taste
They think we’re simple
plain, demure
when I’ve found nothing
more complex
than our beating hearts
malicious, bloodthirsty
trapped in a lonely glass cage
which you’d think to be
transparent
But I know glass
as the safest way
to conceal a secret.
After all, you still think
we’re just porcelain dolls.
