Candle

The flame dwindles and flickers;
For soon we will have no light.
The people dying get sicker and sicker;
Soon it will end their flight.
We just watch with soulless eyes;
Each time we look our eyes go grayer.
As slowly one by one of them dies;
It is too late for anyone’s prayers.
Even with the candles lit
The room seems darker and darker.
As the candle goes out;
Our eyes go black.
