The closer you get, the more worried you get.
Some people stay forever, staying into your arms and heart
Others leave one day for no odd reason; you thought forever you would be close.
One argument, one day you forgot you made plans,
Then that person becomes someone you don’t even know.
Who knew that teenagers would change just for some green.
Possibly white, or crushed up, or cans.
People change for the good or for the bad,
And you try to keep them with you, keep them safe.
But there is only so much someone can do before they are tired of
Fighting for you.
Memories never leave, like people do.
