Broken
August 12, 2011
He broke and bruised my heart,
he tore it into two.
He left me in tears,
but then I met you.
You gathered up the pieces,
and put them back together,
you healed my bruises,
you even took my tears.
The heart I thought heart
I thought I lost,
is once again repaired.
The joy and love I thought was gone
is now fully there.
Your smile warms my heart,
your words light my day,
but then I stop and think,
will I really stay this way?
Will you forever be there whenever I call,
and will you be there to catch me
if I fall?
The things I love and need are here,
but will they always be?
Or will I end up bruised and broken,
with tears in my eyes
falling forever,
into the blackness that lies.
