"You can't get more real than Heaven and Hell"- My dad

It was the first time in a long time
I could smile without consequence.
No thoughts of you to make that smile a lie.
No thoughts of you to make me regretful.
No thoughts of you to make those tears fall again.

It was the first time in a long time
I could listen to music without consequence.
No lyrics relating to the way I felt about you.
No lyrics relating to the words I said to you.
No lyrics relating to the way you stole my heart.

It was the first time in a long time
I could laugh without consequence.
No reminder of how many times I laughed for you.
No reminder of how many inside jokes we made.
No reminder of how many days were important because of you.

It was the first time in a long time
I was happy without consequence.
But the funny thing is there were thoughts.
But the funny thing is there was music relating to everything.
But the funny thing is there were reminders.

My actions just finally didn’t have the consequence of you.
And for the first time in a long time
I was free.

Its weird that I made this about love. My original inspiration was just finally not being sick. I guess that sort of reflects on how I view that relationship...

Seriously, how does this not have any comments? It drives me crazy when great works don't get attention. This is wonderful.
