The aspens sway gracefully,
Like dryads in the breeze,
The same gentle wind
Whispers through their golden leaves.
I wish that forever I could stay
A dryad maiden like the trees
Dancing across the forest floor,
Laughing with the cheerful spring,
Quick and nimble as a deer,
Swifter than the mountain breeze.

I wrote this poem about Colorado, where I used to live. I try to incorperate Classical themes into my poetry, like the dryads, mythical tree nymphs from ancient Greece.
