I had a dream about you last night.
We were walking
Down the street
Like we used to, hand in hand.
You smiled at me,
I smiled back.
We stopped,
You pulled me close,
Whispered
“I love you”
And kissed me.
Waking up
I remember
You aren’t mine.
You never were.
In fact
I’m mad at you
Not that you care.
You belong to her
No matter what I say.
I try and I try.
Nothing changes.
You’re only mine
In my dreams.
