Passion
Led to the cross
There would be a gruesome loss

 Spat on by watchers
Those who should have been stoppers

Struck in the back with spikes
Which left over fifty red, painful strikes

A crown of thorns placed upon his head
Did they see what the scripture read?

Mocked by the warriors of Pilate
Didn’t they realize, they should’ve been silent?

Nails driven through his feet and palms
How could he have been so calm?

A sign nailed over his head
“King of the Jews” Pilate had said

 As the cross was raised
 Spectators watched in dismay

“My God, why have you forsaken me” he shouted
At that point Mount Calvary was crowded

 At the sixth hour,
 He came into great power

“It is finished” he said as his last words
The ground shook as he died, for he is the one, true King

The next day they buried him
In a cave below the hill

On the third day he arose
To be with his Father in a place that flows.

Jesus died for my space in heaven
And I can’t wait to see my Savior and tell him how much I love him.

I praise the Lord, day and night
Praising him for every blessing in my life.
