Little Steps
The edge is so close
I feel like if I just kept walking
that I would forget to fall
and just keep walking
forward and forward
stepping closer
ever closer
to the end
quickly
Walk faster
Don't trip up
Don't even think
Just take longer steps
The edge is so very close
I'm going to miss it now I know
I'm going to walk straight past it
one little step
and I walk right past
forward and outward
pushing the air out of my way
as I imprint myself on the light
that's falling from the clouds
and the world beneath me erupted
their screams of horror, so petty
I was flying and free from them
They're screaming in jealousy
As I soar forward in the bright sky
Buildings and windows rushing past
Vertically
Why would they be going up?
Were the buildings flying upwards?
Why would they do that
It's not fair, I could fly first
They just copied me
I did it first
I took little steps
And look how far it got me
