Words Are Like Water
Words are like water, rushing like a waterfall.
They pour onto the page, a red, white, and blue page.
The once obnoxious shouts of a classroom are reduced to a low hum.
Before my mind’s eye, air swirls into figures.
Figures that grow a mouth, eyes, nose, ears,
 A heart, mind, and soul.
They haunt me, they speak to me.
The instant my pencil touches the paper, the water flows.
Flows like a rushing waterfall in my mind.
