&quot;I have been driven to my knees many times simply by the stark realization that i had no where else to go&quot; Abe Linclon<br /> &quot; The fear of God is the Death of every other fear&quot; C.H. Spurgeon

Cold concrete under my bare feet
Damp with the nighttime rain
The chill of autumn is in the air
For this
My farewell to the summer of my youth

The author's comments:
I basically wrote with this poem on the spot, in the context of the poem: a cold, rainy September night, while on an evening walk to clear my mind. I'd just started college, so that was the main thing on my mind. That night was really a hard one for me and it was when i was having a really hard time giving up my old life of High School.
