Everlasting
Do we lose what we gain?
Or ever consider,
The "what may?"
Do we ever humble ourselves
Or are we lost in our prideful ways?
Do we ever accept
What and is to come?
The depth of our perceptions,
Gone shallow
Will we ever open our judging eyes,
Away from our cloudy sight?
To thank these mercies at hand
In which we are given?
Is true love a state, is true love a game?
Is it exaggeration or is it plain?
Has it betrayed us and broke us down?
Or is it a cure, the mending to our souls
To be in love is something we surely cannot diagnose
Something inside of you, not just a match struck to set your heart aflame,
Not lust, nor desire, it is pure
Love is true and true love is true
It isn't seeking nor fleeing
It is a chance with deeper meaning
True love is pure in which nothing inhibits
No, true love isn't another cliche term
It is and always will be everlasting.
