Return (A Plea) MAG
Come back to the land of the living
It is so dark where you are, and
The drafts keep putting out the candles I light for you.
Come back, now, please
Go no further down that shadowy path
It is paved in the skulls of those who did not turn back.
Why don't you stop running?
Can't you feel the oppression here?
The wind is cold and the ground is dead
And you are too beautiful for this place.
What have you lost,
So that this emptiness rings kinship in your heart?
You sang before, and this vacuum would not carry the sound.
It is suicide to continue, not bravery
There is a reason for warm places, for softness
You must return to them yourself, return to me
I cannot follow you
I cannot see the beauty in this death
Only the evil of seeing such vivacity
Embrace it willingly, far too soon.
If you continue on, at least
Keep dear the knowledge that
Should you look back,
I will stay, and hold the lantern
To bring you home
