May the sun always shine on your windowpane; May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain; May the hand of a friend always be near you; May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

Alone and helpless
You feel as if you have lost the fight
But you must keep going
Heading towards the light
Even when you feel alone
When the darkness tries to over come you
Fight and fight some more
Do not let go
Keep pushing onward
As invisible hands try to pull you downward
Swim with all your might towards the surface
For there waits a hand to pull you up
To lift you from your pain and suffering
You must continue you on
There is a purpose for your life
You just have to find it
So keep searching
Keep heading down this rough and crumbling path
Hope waits at the end
Dreams along the way
You may stumble
You might fall
Pick yourself up
Dust yourself off
Lick those wounds
And carry on
We all have the strength
We all have the internal compass that guides us
Look within yourself
There you will find
Strength to move mountains
Fear of nothing
Push yourself as far as you can
Fight you battles with an open hand
Use wisdom in your choices
Knowledge in your step
Watch where your going
Beware of the snares that are laid to make you quit
One foot in front of the other
Cant see any farther then your hand
But lays ahead is magical
You just have to find the strength to stand
To keep pushing on
To finish what you have started
A journey we call life

I wrote this when I thought a friend needed a little encouragement. It however was basically off the top of my head.

Forgot to add this in my comment, but you ended this very well! I like how the last lines flowed- it didn't leave me hanging, which in this poem was good.

The message in this poem is great! There is certainly wisdom and knowledge in each line. This is also very well written- I enjoyed reading it. Maybe you could review some of my poetry?

Life is like music - You can make mistakes so you try again. But when the piece can't be helped you try again another time.

"Never part without loving words to think of during your absence. It may be that you will not meet again in this life."

I really enjoyed the final 17 lines. It was there that I found the most emotion and the most heart! Great job though, keep writing.
