My Prison, My Sanctuary

Sounds and noises pushing by.
Faces crowding all around me.
Feelings of being trapped.
Feelings of being safe.
Condescending looks are everywhere.
Accepting gazes to be found in the shadows.
Rules to constrain me.
Rules to protect me.
Bitter tears threaten to drown me.
Sweet laughs make me forget them.
The house of lies.
The house of knowledge.
Friends turn on each other.
Fights bring others together.
My prison.
My santuary.
