All is Done
Dreading that moment
The other line
Mystery awaits
The call goes through
The other line
Silence takes over
Think of what to say
Friendships on the line
You say it wrong
The friendship you had
Lost forever with the wind
Cries from the other line
Hate and sadness pounding
Banishing long friendships
And all hope is lost
"When you will return,"
They say through sobs
Anticipation dripping from their quiet tone
Annunciating those last words
Was the hardest part
"Never" I say
Tears stinging my eyes
"All is done here, goodbye"
Friendship is lost
Abruptly and tragically
No one cares nor tries
Living oh so far away
Its not worth the trip
As they laugh about their memories
From the summers past
I sit there and think of what they have
Pressure is their weapon
My mind is my shield
Giving in is not an option
I will not give up
