Three Innocent Words
Hot tears streaming down my face.
Emotions boiling over the surface.
A giant, jumbled mess.
My stomach hurts more with every beat of the heart.
"I love you"
Those three innocent words can do so much damage.
I don't hear them often.
But i see them in his actions.
But it still hurts.
A fake smile put on for the world to see.
Can they see the real me?
No, they believe every lie i tell.
Every false step i take.
He's mad all the time.
His emotions under the concrete surface.
Behind the giant wall.
Killing me with his bitterness.
Destroying me when he doesn't tell me.
"I love you"
Those three innocent words that can hurt so much.
With a blink of an eye he says them.
Then they are gone.
My father finally told me those three innocent words.
Emotions boiling hot.
Tears still falling faster, hotter.
Will I ever hear them again?
This may be true, but sometimes you just NEED to hear it.
This was written in 2009.
