When You Return
Black was the night
 That made you go
 The ringing of your goodbye
 And your hand written note

 Dark were the days
 Where I sat by myself
 Waiting for comfort
To be put on the shelf

 Black was the time
 When I turned away
From the advice they all gave
And everything they had to say

 Dark were the memories
 That played in my mind
 And leaked in my dreams
 And made me go blind

 Black was the note
 I read in my bed
 And cried myself to sleep
As I ate the words you said

 Dark were the moments
You told me we were fine
 And everything you said
Turned out to be a lie

 Black was the night
 You escaped from my mind
 And when you return
My heart is yours to find
