Beautifully Broken
You told me I was beautiful
Made me believe it with your touch
I gave you everything that I had
Even after I’d already let you take too much
I was blinded from the start
Hid my fears when you wrapped me in your embrace
Convinced myself that your darkness wasn’t real
Even though it was all written in your face
You told me I was beautiful
Made me believe it with your kiss
But still I didn’t give you enough
Because in the end it was a hit and miss
I wanted to be with you forever
I thought you were the one
But I shouldn’t have tried to see a man
In a boy when there was none
You told me I was beautiful
I finally know it’s true
I know you think you broke me
But truth is in the end the broken one is you
