Wearing their hair flat ironed to perfection
I'm wearing my naturally curly hair
Wild
Because its a blessing
While other girls
Are shopping at
Hollister, Gilly Hicks and Abercombie & Fitch
I'm happy searching through the racks of
TJ Maxx, Burgliton, JC Penny and Dots
Buying clothes whose prices
Actually make sense
When other girls are
Flipping through gossip magazines
I'm reading the newspaper
And flipping through the National
Geographic
while other girls are
Spending hundreds on Gucci & Prada
I'm in the craft store
Buying stuff to make my own bag
While other girls are
At the shop getting their nails done
I'm watching youtube
Trying to learn how to do my own nails.
While other girls are
On Facebook making statuses
And on twitter making tweets
About nonsense things
I'm on TeenInk raving
About my individuality.
