Dancing with You
you walk and drive and take the train
you wear shades in the sun, umbrellas in the rain
 but have you ever danced?

you hurry to the office and then hurry back
you fret about the time and the skills that you lack
 but have you ever danced?

you fear to fear, but you fear to love
you fear all the things you are ignorant of
 but have you ever danced?

all it takes is a flick of the wrist
and serenade the sky and unclench your fist
and laugh at the wind and taste sugar in tears
and skip stones on the clouds and forgive the past years
and splash in the puddles and dream of romance
once, just once, you ought to dance
