Everything to Me
As the seasons change and you slowly move away,
Across the world it seems to a wider range,
I’ll never forget the seldom times we’ve fought,
Or the plenty times you would not leave me be,
And you probably don’t remember how that feels,
But you meant everything to me.
They say that burnin’ sun won’t shine forever,
And I see this love pass us by,
Like the snow that melts to nothing,
These memories we’ve shared are clearly mine.
Well, I hope not many girls look at you,
They would instantly fall in love,
Because your eyes are an addiction,
They are the sweet shine to my sun,
Like a bright July afternoon…
-but as the rain cloud grew nearer,
Your eyes changed too soon,
And your thunder pushed me out,
…and for a year, I could not find you.
So, I sat dazed and confused at my opened window,
Overlooking an ocean that danced under the cold moon.
“Tangerine” by Zeppelin played from the balcony below,
And I could not help but compare our love to that signature tune.
So, please don’t shake your head,
And tell me it’s all over.
Hey, I’ve remembered every little thing you’ve said,
And all of those times you could not leave me be,
And sure, you probably don’t remember how that feels,
But you meant everything to me.
