Golden Gate Bridge
An endless bay lies before me.
I inhale a deep breath of the misty breeze,
The ocean aroma blooming in my nose.
I stroll idly along the Golden Gate Bridge;
this evening is flawless.
The sky is a smear of faint turquoise,
Adorned with heavy streaks of pale white.
The sun hides behind the swirls of clouds,
And the fog lingers near the bridge,
Loaning its dreamy atmosphere.
The soaring, chilly wind
Makes my hair fly in every direction..
I place both hands on the clammy fence,
And rest my eyes on the vast bay.
I lean forward
And try to touch the beauty,
And absorb the tranquility.
The elegance of the emerald green waves,
Gracefully dancing beneath the bridge,
And the glow of the sun on the sparkling water
Leave me breathless.
I slowly close my eyes
And let this place root me to this spot.
I feel the strong breeze
Rippling through my hair,
And the faintly sweet air rushes into my body,
So purifying and refreshing.
The sound of the rushing cars,
The churning waves,
Blend into one,
Bringing solace to my strained mind.
The powerful wind lifts my worries
And soothes the tightness in my chest.
I am completely transported to a faraway dream,
With only me,
And the quiet, murky ocean,
That stretches to the edges of the skyline beside me.
