Love. A four letter word, short but true. With no hope of being defined. But what's new?

-S. Jordan

Picture a street all lit in the snow
Picture a man whistling as he goes
Picture a woman waiting by the door
Picture her sitting there waiting some more
Picture the man in bare thin clothes
Picture him smiling as the cold freezes his toes
Picture the woman with sad sour thoughts
Picture her thinking the "ifs" and the "oughts"
Picture the man walking outside her home
Picture him waving at her as he continues to roam
Picture the women unmoving as he rounds the bend
Picture her there as she watches his end
Picture the man not seeing the car
Picture him laying there face to the stars
Picture the woman staring with grief
Picture her crying out in horror and disbelief
Picture the man being no more
Picture him still smiling as she opens the door
Picture the woman looking petty and vain
Picture her knowing she would not be the same
Picture a small hope that begins to grow
Picture a new beginning on a street lit in the snow

I wrote this poem for no particular reason and with no intentions on where it was going at first, it then became something deeper as the poem progressed. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
