Concerto
Carved from ivory with a smooth
Polished finish
Solid yet soft to the touch
Light on the underside
Darker on top
The beauty in simplicity is easily forgotten
The pressure to produce is not
Quality of the euphoria depends on the tips
Working together as a unit
Each strike producing a different pulse
Evoking a melodious chord
Evolving from the first measure
Recognizing the apparent harmony
Working to maintain a constant tempo
A job that seems so easy
But in fact contains so much repetition
And concentration
Until it is natural.
The first movement has ended
Producing something forever euphonious
But the weight of success lies entirely on the digits
