The Reasons Why
I like to make my words sing
And dart across the page
In temperate, deliberate strokes
My words are more beautiful
Than the darkest of paintings,
More vibrant
Than the loudest of tunes
And I love them
Like I love my family
And the bite of thin winter air
They are a product of
My privileged life
And cynical nature
And I force them out of me
In hopes that this
Pure and intimate extension of myself
Will someday become salvation
For somebody similar
