The Pot and the Elephant
If I could just state the obvious
 About our predicament
 I would say
 You are the pot
 While I'm just the kettle
 I am the tea cup
 Filled and yet empty
 Watching the fireworks
 Hit on reply
 Nothing is brand new
 But nothing is old
 We have nothing
 Regardless of what I'm told
 Perfect and regal
 Is how you remind me
 Blue and old fashioned
 Is how I define me
 I'm always open
 Here to listen
But you are the pink elephant
 Tormented and relentless
 Come on now baby
 Don't leave me hanging
 This is our story
 Of hanging desperation
