My Sheet of Paper
I’m a sheet of paper

 Inscribed with experiences
 So easy to write
 So difficult to erase

Worn by the folds of change
 Maturing with every
 Mistaken crease I make.

 I’m a sheet of paper

 Unlined by rules
 That bind grownups
 To the trampled path

 Crowded with my individuality
 Unspoken thoughts
 Lingering dreams

 I’m a sheet of paper

 Torn by insults
And restrained by the binders of
 Predetermined judgment

I’m repaired by the kindness of smiles
 The empathy of music
 The knowledge of friends

 I’m a sheet of paper

And though I may be unsightly at times
 Crumpled and worn
 From the stresses of life

 It’s my contents that matter
 It’s my contents
That make me who I am today
