Tantalizing Rose
Twilight-
An envious frost creeps over
the land
while the dawn sleeps
silently.
Sleeps
unknowingly.
Silver paints the rugged mountain side
as a rose-
a single, red rose
begins to wither,
at the frost’s first prick of
desire.
Delicate
and
afraid,
the rose
nuzzlesamongstitsshiveringpetals
awaiting the moment the warmth of dawn
will wake-
and rekindle her from the frigid frost.
