Trophy
I've been put up on display,
Between glass walls.
The eyes of the world are watching
Each emotion as it tumbles
From lips in form of words,
From eyes in form of tears.
The whole world watches me
Within this trophy case,
Unabashedly staring at everything
I used to keep inside,
But can't any longer
Because the watching eyes
Reach deep inside, and bring forth
The tears, the words, the fears,
The breaths I hold,
The thoughts I long to lose.
I'm on display, like a treasure,
Or a golden trophy,
For all the world to see me,
And stare, unashamed of the hurts
That brought me here, to be put
On display.
