“Every thorn is just part of the stem to a beautiful rose” - R.R.

Two flowers bloomed at One,

One purple like mountains,

The other golden like suns.

Their sweet petals drew me in,

Like a devil’s temptation

of Eve into sin.

I first saw the yellow bloom.

It’s color the shade

of my perfect groom.

Until the latter caught my eye,

it’s majestic appearance

Consuming my mind.

I had picked neither, afraid which I may lose.

Both seemed so lovely

and I couldn’t bear to choose.

Of course, I had seen the yellow first,

But would changing my mind

really be the worst?

The purple seemed exciting and new,

But the yellow was the perfect hue,

“I’ve really always wanted you”

But my happiness is important too.

I really don’t know what to do

And it’s getting to be half-past Two.
