Losing An Innocent Life
One last gulp of air
Before my lips caress the swift, hard cheek of death
Before he grabs the shield to break my ties
 To memories, young and old
Of life's cold fight with love and war
It's grip falls into the fire of a lost, broken soul
Who could not withstand the tears that stabbed through skin
Revealing burns, caused by acid rain
Falling from the mouths of those I fear
Words said to rip through the bonds of trust
Terror to stab the hearts of those once loved
Lies to fool those with innocent minds
Memories that must be burned from my mind
A perfect world shattered by a dark dream
How does one eradicate this poison of the mind?
Only death can deliver peace to a diseased mind
Death is the cure to end a lifetime of woe
And this is how innocent souls like me forget
A world that dreamed of watching an outcast fall
Down through a hole to land in fiery flames
Too bad the pain could not be silenced
Before a poisoned heart stopped beating
