I Never Asked You To Change
I believe seating charts belong in class
But I never asked you to change
You tease when I switch where I sit on the bus
But I never asked you to change

 I'm vegan and I couldn't hurt a soul
But I never asked you to change
The last night I stayed you ate three Sloppy Joes
But I never asked you to change

I do my homework every night
But I never asked you to change
You fake it you cheat it I guess it's all right
'Cause I never asked you to change

I'm sensitive and sometimes I cry
But I never asked you to change
You pretend not to notice and act extra nice
And I never asked you to change

You fall asleep fast and you don't sleep too light
But I never asked you to change
Especially now I stay up all night
But I never asked you to change

You don't mind growing up and high school is fine
But I never asked you to change
It's cold and it's cruel and I whimper and whine
But I never asked you to change

I tried to be strong and I tried to move on
But I never asked you to change
You could've let go but instead you held on
Glad that I never asked you to change

 A garden you grow
 The answers you know
 You try a new seat
 You're up before me
 You acknowledge my tears
 You don't act your years
 You look good in pink
You don't care what they think
 We share a smile again
Proud to call you my friend
 You're there and you're true
And that's why I love you

Through the rain and through the sun
I have loved you every which way
 You were always the one
I never had to ask you to change
