&quot; The world needs dreamers and the world needs doers. But above all, the world needs dreamers who do.&quot; <br /> ~Sarah Ban Breathnach

Death walked slowly through the snow
Her radiance setting the powder aglow
She tended Winter’s gentle silence
And lended Spring her guidance.
She calmed the suffering creatures
And smoothed their withering features
Until the day the Earth stopped dying
And she was forced into hiding.
Death walked slowly through the snow
And – with nowhere left for her to go –
Approached the House of Life and its host,
Who welcomed her
As the one who made life worth the most.

The author's comments:
I always thought it was curious how we think of personified Death as a fearful, evil man. I wanted to challenge that view by portraying Death as a gentle, kind girl.

Write. It doesn&#039;t matter if you&#039;re overjoyed, furious, miserable, or what. Write to keep those emotions in check while managing to grow stronger.

This is fantabulous! And yes, I just made up a word to help me describe your poem. It was really cool how you made Death a female instead of the feeble old man in a black cloak. It was a very creative idea and I enjoyed it very much :)

Thank you :3 I'm very careful when it comes to word choice; I'm glad it paid off and makes the poem more meaningful.

Amazing! I really loved the concept of this poem and the meaning behind it. I feel like this perspective brings out the "better" side of death that we may not realize--like giving relief to the suffering. Great work!

I really like this poem. I also like how you made death different then an evil man. I loved it!
