Perfection
People aren’t perfect
Grudges latch on for a lifetime
Clinging quietly
Unseen until brought to the surface.
Good deeds are forgotten
In the blink of an eye
Disappearing as if there was nothing ever there.
In the mirror
Our imaginations run wild
A fair maiden becomes a hideous hag.
Our shrieks of terror rip through our ears
Night after night
Long after they’ve occurred.
Our laughter ripples
Softly and silently in circles on a lake.
When fun
Time slips through our fingers
Like sand.
When dull
It creeps along
Reaching greedy hands out slowly.
But we’re only human
We have love
So we have all.
