Something Isn't Right

I have waited for this day
for what seems like forever.
Now you’re here
and it’s not what I expected.
I wanted schoolgirl giggles
and nervous butterflies,
but I have this sinking feeling
that something isn’t right.
You aren’t as happy as I.
Maybe you just aren’t my guy?
You push me away
and make up excuses.
What could it be
that you are hiding from me?
Let’s end this now
before I get hurt even more.
I want my heart kept as a whole.
