A Heart That Forgives
They hurt me
 Bullied me
 Stoned me to the ground
 They left me for dead
 Left me to drown
In my own tears and broken dreams
Deafened by my own sorrowful screams
 They left me for dead
And closed their ears to my pleads
 The hurt and the pain
Produced by those who were closest
The ones I had known the longest
Those who hurt me the most
 They walked away in silence
 No remorse on their face
 From that day forward
I never have opened my heart
 I’ve hated those people
It was so hard for me to speak
 My heart had been hardened
And my mouth has been opened
I try not to be a bystander
 All my tears spent
 I’m done being stomped on
 Ridiculed
 And looked upon with contempt
 But the hatred bundled inside
 Has to go away
 I’ve been through too much
 To let this one thing
 Get in my way
 Forgiveness is what I’m seeking
 For them and for me
I want a heart that forgives
 Oh please troubles,
 Please let me be
