Too long
It took me much too long
I was stuck inside your eyes
A prisoner to your soul
A sucker for your lies
It broke me down, pushed too far
You drove me through the ground
I don’t know if I’ll escape
When I can’t hear a sound
It holds me in that place still’
I can’t even see the light
All the doors that we had
Have been locked for the infinite night
It took me much too long
To realise there was no need to struggle
I wait here comfortably
Maybe one day you’ll set my spirit free
